MEDICAL

Sumner County Jail provides 24/7 medical services, dental, mental health evaluation and treatment to all inmates. Inmate accounts will be debited for medical care provided to the inmate if the inmate has adequate funds in his/her inmate account. A $10.00 fee will be debited from an inmate’s account for any medical related visit/treatment with a doctor, nurse, dentist, hospital, clinic or other medical facility. A $5.00 fee will be debited from an inmate’s account for any prescription medications provided. No inmate will be denied medical care due to the lack of inmate account funds but the inmate account will be debited & collection conducted when future funds are made available.

 

Friends and Family Members may bring an inmates’ medication to the jail visitation lobby. Simply bring the correct medication in the appropriate label bottle and let the officers working the visitation desk know “you are here to drop off medication” they will get a nurse to come assist you. Remember we are a non-narcotic facility.

Medication drop-off times are seven (7) days a week:

11a.m. to 1p.m.          &             7p.m. to 9p.m.

Under the HIPPA and medical confidentiality rules, no medical information will be released to family members, friends, etc. A formal request may be made upon the inmate’s consent and authorization, and fees will be charge according to rules and regulations.
